Mamas
Taking care of yourself in motherhood is the hardest job you'll ever have. Motherhood itself is a hard job. Like really hard. No, like really f*$#ing hard. But, at the end of the day, you know your priority is your child's wellbeing and that guides you through even the most chaotic of days.
Taking care of yourself, on the other hand, is another job entirely. Some days you make it to your self-care commitments. But, most days something gets in the way, whether it be the dog barfing all over your couch (you can't just leave it there for someone else to clean it, right?!) or, your spouse's boss calls an impromptu meeting right in the middle of your weekly yoga class. Like I said, taking care of yourself often feels IMPOSSIBLE.
But, I am here to tell you to drop the "IM" because taking care of yourself is the MOST important thing you can do and it IS POSSIBLE. Now, it may not look exactly like it did before kids or a spouse, but your mind, body and soul will relish in it anyways. YOU are worth it! Investing in yourself to address your chronic digestive issues, fatigue, poor sleep, hormonal imbalances or weight gain that denies you your favorite jeans is worth more than you'll ever spend on the practitioners who can guide you and help you heal. Not only will you benefit, but your family will benefit, your boss, your spouse and even the dog.
